Looking at the DR3000

On the front, there are eight indicator LEDs: these show that the repeater is powered up; whether it is disabled; operating in analogue or digital mode and whether it is transmitting (in digital mode which time slot is in use, will be shown).

The DR 3000 repeater is a continuous-duty unit that supports two simultaneous voice or data paths in digital TDMA mode; or FM operation in analogue mode. Additionaly, it can be configured for Dynamic Mixed Mode (DMM) operation, allowing mixed fleets (analogue and digital) to share the same repeater.

In DMM, the repeater senses whether the incoming signal is analogue or digital and switches to either FM or TDMA. DMM does not support any IP and is merely intended as a solutions for customers who are migrating to digital. It is also important that theexisting analogue radio be programmed with a PL or DPL to prevent them from unmuting to a digital transmission.

The repeater mounts easily in wall or rack systems, either using the wall mounting bracket (PMLE4476A) or via standard EIA 19 inch rack systems - the height is 4U.

The DR3000 supports battery backup though if larger, deep discharge, battery systems are planned, an external (high current) charging system is reccomended. Connection is made via the RKN4152A battery backup cable. The repeater has an accessory connector allowing the connection of a wide variety of controllers - for this a PMLN5072A connector is required to make up the interface cable. The receive antenna connection is BNC and the transmit connection N-type.

There is also the RJ45 Ethernet connector: This allows for IP communication between repeaters and sites in IP Site Connect; Capacity Plus; Linked Capacity Plus or Connect Plus configurations. Repeater status and alarm conditions can also be monitored via Motorola's RDAC Application or via an Application Partner solution like TRBONET Watch; GW3-TRBO or SmartPTT Monitoring - and others.
There are two ways to program this repeater: either via the accessoriy connector on the back or via the ethernet connector (and therefore remotely using IP). In order to program the repeater via IP, it will need to have IP Remote Programming enabled. Programming is performed via the MOTOTRBO CPS.

The DR3000 is part of the MOTOTRBO series, delivering increased capacity and spectrum efficiency, integrated data communications and enhanced voice communications through a complete solution.
