How AGC and Intelligent Audio Response get the message through first time

Everybody speaks in a different tone of voice – some folk (like me) are just loud by nature. When angry or under stress, nearly everyone speaks louder.
To ensure the received signal on a MOTOTRBO system is always at more or less the same volume at the other end, Automatic Gain Control (AGC) and Intelligent Audio Response can be enabled.

AGC automatically adjusts the microphone level on the transmitting radio so that louder sounds are at a reasonable level.
Intelligent Audio Response monitors the ambient noise in the room or area during receive. If the noise increases, the radio automatically raises the volume to ensure messages can be heard in noisy environments.

These two features benefit users by keeping received audio at the same level. As a result, users generally don’t need to keep adjusting their volume and messages don’t need to be repeated because they’re heard correctly first time.

Enabling AGC is highly recommended and is enabled in all MOTOTRBO radios by default.
Intelligent Audio Response is only available on the current generation of MOTOTRBO radios.
