How does Acoustic Feedback Suppression help?

When two or more radio users from the same team (i.e. their radios are on the same channel) are standing close to one another, and one of those users transmits, their voice is sometimes heard on the neighboring radios.

This can often result in a continuous looped-back sound or howling noise which can be frustrating for everyone. To prevent this, Acoustic Feedback Suppression can be enabled by the radio user or in the CPS.

Messages don’t need to be repeated

Radio users can stay together in teams

The delay (echo) heard, when listening to oneself while transmitting on another radio, is normal. This is because there is a 30ms delay from the time when your voice is converted to digital and send out on the next timeslot. This delay is present on all digital two-way radios.
