New MOTOTRBO portable

The DP540 portable radio has been introduced in EMEA and is primarily intended for Sub-Saharan Africa. This is an entry-tier budget model. The main highlights are:

• VHF 136-174MHz (5W) or UHF 403-470MHz (4W). 
• Analogue or Digital DMR (Tier 2) operation.
• 16 channels
• MIL-STD-810; IP54 and ALT
• Dual Capacity Direct Mode
• Voice Announcement
• Scan.

It does not support any trunked systems though I understand that it will support IPSC.

The radio has two battery options and uses the same audio accessories as the DP1400. This radio is not CE and so won't be sold in Europe (or countries that require CE). It uses the same form factor as the P145. Readers based in Asia will recognise this radio as the XiR C1200.
