MOTOTRBO Radio Management wont install? Try these things before calling technical support.
I had someone contact me who was unable to install Radio Management. Generally, the below listed items resolve this problem.
Use a clean machine.
It's better to install Radio Management on a PC which does not have any other applications installed that could interfere with normal operation. Generally most applications are okay as long as they don't use SQL or load the processor too much.
Personally, I prefer a clean machine with nothing else on it. This includes debloating it (no need for Candy Crush or One Drive).
Are you using the right operating system?
Radio Management will not install on Windows 7 or 8.1 anymore. It should still install if you are using Windows 10 32-bit (x86) but it's better to use the 64-bit version, if this is a new PC.
MacOS and Linux are not supported.
Is Windows up to date?
Make sure Windows has been updated; that the downloaded updates have been installed and the PC has been rebooted.
Make sure you have the right permissions?
Make sure you have administrative rights. The installer will need to save files in several locations and add/update registry values. This can only be done you have admin rights on this PC.
Run setup as an administrator.
When installing Radio Management, make sure you run setup.exe (in the root folder of the DVD; USB or ZIP file) asan administrator, even if you have admin rights on the PC. To do this, right-button click on setup.exe and choose "Run as Administrator".
Disable your Antivirus.
Some antivirus programs can block an installation without giving any visible message. Don't forget to reenable it afterwards.
After its installed.
By default, Windows Defender blocks nearly everything. You can turn Windows defender off for a few minutes to see whether this solves any connectivity problem but it's a bad idea to leave it turned off.
Radio management uses TCP ports 443; 5020; 8675; 49202; 49205-49210; 51020-51030; 50003 and 65534.
