Some notes about installing IMPRES Battery Fleet Management 4.0

Hardware

In terms of hardware, you will need  PC with an i5 generation 8 or equivalent processor; at least 10 GB free disk space; at least one USB port and at least 2 GB of  RAM.

Software

You can download the installer from the Motorola Solutions website.

The server (PC which will host the Battery Fleet Management database) needs to be running either
Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprise/Pro; Windows 8.1 Pro or Windows Server 2012/2016 Standard.

Installation

The installer will also turn on Internet Information Service (IIS). This is a Windows feature that allows the PC to host web pages.

Make sure to update Windows before installing.

On a VM

If you will be installing IMPRES Battery Fleet Management on a Virtual Machine:

  • You need to use a static MAC address for the guest VM.
  • If the VM connects to the network via Wi-Fi, make sure Random hardware addresses (as its known in Windows) is turned off in both the guest and host OS. This feature changes the Wi-Fi adaptors MAC address every time it connects to a network. This can affect the licence activation.
  • You will need to have administrator rights on the guest OS before installing the software.
  • The guest OS needs to be Windows English (both System and Input Locale need to be en-us, the LCID can be 1033) for the installation. Older versions of Windows might not work but other languages will not work.

On a PC (with no VM)

If you will not be using virtualisation:
  • Make sure you have administrator rights on the PC and disk drive.
  • If the PC will connect to the network via Wi-Fi, make sure Random hardware addresses is turned off.
  • The language must be set to English.
