R7 label

 

The R7 has a smooth space on the right hand side, just below the accessory connector, where you can place a label. 

The dimensions of this space are:

Width 13,25mm

Height: 34,95mm

Corners: 3,5mm radius.

The closest I could find in Germany, that doesn't require special hardware, is the 3320 from Avery Zweckform. This is an ISO A4 sheet of 25 white synthetic labels, each measuring 10x32mm.

The label could be used for an asset tag number or owner details.

If you're planning to do engraving, the (horizontal) center is 9,4mm from the rear edge (mating point with the battery) and 40mm from the bottom edge. The material (wall) thickness at this point is around 3mm. 

Personally, I don't like engraving as its not allowed on EX radios; will theoretically weaken the housing and looks nasty if not done properly.
