My 25-watt repeater is showing an error. Can you please help me fix this issue?

[Q] I have two SLR 5300* repeaters, one 25-watt and one 50-watt. I accidentally read the program from the 50-watt repeater and flashed it onto the 25-watt repeater. Because of this, my 25-watt repeater is showing an error. Can you please help me fix this issue?

[A] You did not mention which error exactly. By this I assume you mean that the Status 🔔 LED is either amber or red? If this is the case, you need to see which condition is generating this alarm. There are two ways to do this: RDAC or the web interface.

RDAC can connect to the repeater via IP or locally using the programming cable. If connecting remotely, the repeater will either need to be connected to the network or has to be the Master (now called Primary) in an IP Site Connect or Capacity Plus system.

If connecting locally, you would simply use the programming cable and press connect.

For this you would of course need the RDAC software.

In your case, the status icon would either be red or an orange triangle. The columns to the right will give you a clue as to what is causing the alarm. The repeater I have here is a SLR1000 so it does not produce as much diagnostic information as the SLR5500 can.

Using the web interface only requires a browser. You would connect to the repeater using ethernet and ether its IP address. You will then need to log in. By default the username is motorola and the password is the repeater serial number.

Once logged in you will need to change the password. Once you've done that click on the REPEATER ALARMS link. Here you should see a list of alarms.

There is no means to clear the alarms here. You need to look at the alarm(s) and take steps to fix whatever is causing it. In any case, clearing an alarm doesn't fix it -  trust me 😉.

Both repeaters were presumably working before your programmed the one. This points to something in the codeplug that is causing this. There are several possibilities. If you can post the alarm(s) here I can give you some clues.

As a side-note, there is no such thing as a 25W SLR5300. There is only a 50W model which can be set to 25W. * The SLR5300 is the Asian version of the SLR5500.
