Motorola Mitrek Mobile Radio

I am proud to say, that a fair amount of what I know about superhetrodyne receivers; squelch circuits; frequency multipliers and VHF power amplifiers, I learnt while repairing these radios as a technician. I even used to have the master key that fits the lock, with my car keys and house keys on the keychain.

The only plastic on this radio was the speaker; microphone and the control head - the rest was cast aluminium (I think). It weighed a tonne but lasted a lifetime - I woldnt be surprised if there are still a few of these still in service (and still with the old 25kHz filters in).
