Some information about cleaning two way radios
The Michigan Public Safety Communications Interoperability Board released guidelines from Motorola Solutions for cleaning radios in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. You can read the details on the RadioResource International website here.
The article mentions, amongst others, a disinfectant called Zep DZ-7, which can be purchased from various retail outlets in the USA. I could not find a commercially available equivalent in Europe (here are the ingredients if you are interested).
I know that one supermarket chain in Germany uses Diversey Suma Quickdes D4.12 on their radios. The active ingredients here are Ethanol and Isopropyl Alcohol. This product is not sold in stores but I guess you could source this from a stockist.
A popular household disinfectant in Germany is Sagrotan Desinfektion Reiniger. According to the coronavirus-specific information on their website, "Some of our products, when used as directed on the label, are effective against similar strains of coronavirus (beta-coronaviruses). However, we currently have no test results against this new special virus strain. According to the Rober Koch Iinstitute, the novel virus, like the SARS virus, is a beta-corona virus. (Dated 28 January 2020)."
Sagrotan is owned by Reckitt Benckiser. In the UK and commonwealth, they are well known for producing Dettol but this has not been shown to be effective against the coronavirus (see here and here). However, they do produce a product called Dettol Antibacterial Surface Cleanser which contains two of the ingredients found in Zep DZ-7.
The radio housing on the DP4000e series is made from a polycarbonate siloxane copolymer resin known as LEXAN™ EXL1414.
