New Capacity Max hardware

My understanding is that the HPE MSR2003AC router and HPE Aruba 2530 switch will go end-of-life in October 2021. As there will be no HPE direct replacement, the Juniper SRX300 and SRX345 routers and EX2300-24 switches have been validated and will take its place alongside the Cisco 3650 and 2911.

If you have an existing system that uses HPE Routers and ADVPN, you cannot add the above Juniper hardware since ADVPN is an HPE proprietary feature. Mixing HPE and Juniper may work if ADVPN is not used but this has not yet been validated. If you are looking to expand an existing network that uses ADVPN, speak to your Motorola Account Manager or Support Engineer.

If you have a significant deployment of MSR2003s, one option to consider would be to use - for example - the H3C MSR2600. This Router looks curiously similar to the HPE and claims to support ADVPN. The reason is that H3C was once owned by 3Com - who were acquired by HP in 2010. Presumably, there was some knowledge transfer and H3C continue to knock out HPE-lookalike Routers. I've not tested these so cannot say for certain if they work but ADVPN is listed in the specifications.

The HPE ProLiant DL380g9 server will also soon be going end-of-life. At some point, Capacity Max System Servers (CMSS) will be based on the HPE ProLiant DL20g10 server. This server will provide the same functionality and performance as the DL380g9 but in a smaller form factor (1U versus 2U).

It will be possible to mix DL20g10 and DL380g9 CMSSs in the same system, as long as both servers are on the same software release. Replacement parts will be available for as long as HPE can support this.
