R7 welcome bitmap
To get your custom image imported into a R7, you will need to save it as follows:
File Type: Bitmap (BMP)
Dimensions: 240 x 320 pixels
Colour space: 16-bit (R5-G6-B5)
Dimensions: 240 x 320 pixels
Colour space: 16-bit (R5-G6-B5)
Resolution: ≥150dpi
The colour space - R5-G6-B5 - is particularly important as simply saving the image as a 16bit bitmap might not work. Applications like Microsoft Paint do not support this.
Since my original post on this topic, I've started using GIMP which has better support for different file formats. Below are screenshots from the application showing how to export the image in the right colour space.
Take note of the mode (RGB) and precision (16bit) as well as the R5-G6-B5 selection when exporting.
The above image can be downloaded here if you would like to try it out for yourself (or at least see that it works).
