Multisite Capacity Plus Channel Blocked Override
The new Channel Blocked Override feature in Multisite Capacity Plus is a useful feature that will improve wide-area talkgroup call setup in that calls can now be set up successfully, even when some of the associated sites have out-of-contention-repeaters due to interference; CWID transmission or a Major Alarm.
Normally these conditions would result in calls failing due to there not being repeaters free at all required sites, to pass the requested talkgroup call.
Unlike Capacity Max, talkgroup calls in a Multisite Capacity Plus system are statically streamed to RF sites - even to ones where there are no talkgroup members. The sites to which a call must be streamed is defined in the Master Repeater codeplug/configuration, under Talkgroups (see example above).
Note that channel blocked override is not like Fast Start in Capacity Max in that a wide-area talkgroup will still fail if a participating site is fully loaded (i.e. all the timeslots are busy with other calls).
Also, there is no late entry so if a rest channel becomes available, radios at an affected site will miss a call which has already started.
Rather, one should think of this as a "Ignore Channel Blocked State" function.
No configuration is required to enable this feature, the only requirement is that all radios and repeaters are on M2022.01
You need to be careful about setting the number of Reserved Wide Area Channels. Setting this value too high will negate any advantage Channel Blocked Override brings in that the above setting reserves a certain number of timeslots purely for wide-area talkgroups which then causes local area talkgroups (i.e. talkgroups going out on just one site) to fail.
The Reserved Wide Area Channels setting cable be found in the sites table of the Master Repeater codeplug/configuration (example below).
