XCTB 🔒
CPS version 2.151.292.0 (part of the M2024.02 release) now saves codeplugs using a new XCTB file format. The CPS will still be able to open CTB, CTB2 and XPBA files but these can then only be saved as a XCTB.
This new file format allows for the optional password protection of security keys. To enable this protection, Secure key values with password must be ticked in the CPS settings (Settings>>Security). When saving a codeplug for the first time with a password, the user will be prompted to enter the password twice.
A codeplug with password protection can be opened but the user must enter the password to view any keys. When adding any additional keys, no password must be entered but to view any of these added keys again, the password must be entered.
If Secure key values with password is not ticked, the user will not be required to enter the password when saving or when viewing any of the keys.
When importing the saved codeplug into Radio Management, the password is not transferred. Radio Management uses a different mechanism to protect this kind of information.
