Q&A: Scan not working.
Q. I have a problem setting up the analog channel on my Motorola DM1600 radio. The frequency on the analog channel uses PL tone. There is DMR traffic on the same frequency. The PL tone works fine on the frequency when it is not in the scan. If this analog channel is in the scan, the PL tone will let the DMR through and you can hear the growl. Please advise how to program the radio so that the analog channel, when it is in the scan and under the PL tone, will not let the DMR through.
A. The following settings ought to work:
\General Settings:\Off-Hook Disables PL = No
\Zone:ZoneX\ZoneItems:ChannelY\RX TPL Code = <<As required>>
\Zone:ZoneX\ZoneItems:ChannelY\TX TPL Code = <<As required>>
\Zone:ZoneX\ZoneItems:ChannelY\TPL Reverse Burst = Standard
\Zone:ZoneX\ZoneItems:ChannelY\Unmute Rule = And Unmute, Or Mute
\Scan:\Off-Hook Suspends = Disabled
\Scan Items:ListX\PL Type = Priority and Non-Priority Channel
TPL Reverse Burst wont make any difference but it just removes the noise heard when someone releases the PTT. The last three settings will have an impact on scan performance.
If my suggestions don't work, please contact whoever you get equipment; parts and technical support from.
