Only on MOTOTRBO: Enhanced Noise Suppression
In high noise environments, normal noise suppression can distort speech intelligibility when the signal to noise ratio at the microphone approaches 6dB. The enhanced noise suppression algorithm (also known as SINC+) is standard in new MOTOTRBO radios and provides additional noise suppression over and above that offered by AMBE+2.
Before M2020.02, SINC+ needed a few seconds to train on the background noise and suppress it whenever the radio transmitted. This meant that whenever the PTT was pressed, the audio with some background noise could be heard for the first few seconds on the receiving end.
The improvement made in M2020.02 allows the radio to quickly learn the ambient noise thereby allowing noise-free speech to be transmitted as soon as the PTT is pressed.
