Two enhancements to emergency in Capacity Max

1. Voice Interrupt for Emergency Alarm

Prior to M2020.02, radios users on a Capacity Max system might have missed an emergency alert in circumstances where

  • The emergency call is set to Emergency with Voice to Follow or Emergency Alert with Call and
  • The destination is set to the currently selected group and
  • The destination group is busy when the emergency call comes in.

M2020.02 includes an enhancement that will have the system send an interrupt before sending the emergency call. This interrupts the ongoing call and ensures that all talkgroup members receive the alert.

To enable this, the following must be set:

In the Capacity Max System Set, Voice Interrupt Support must be ticked.

Voice Interrupt for Emergency Alarm must be ticked for that radio (or those radios) in the Subscriber Access Control table (don't forget to schedule a write whenever you change something here, even though there isn't a purple dot next to the CMSS in Radio View).

2. Cancel Emergency Alarm

Prior to M2020.02, if a radio user on a Capacity Max system triggered emergency by mistake,  they could only cancel this on their radio but not on the receiving radios.

In M2020.02 it's now possible for the originating radio user to automatically clear the emergency state of the other radios. This feature is also available on a dispatch console which can cancel an alarm initiated by any user.

All that is needed, is to set Cancel Emergency to With messaging in the Signaling Systems set used by the radio(s).
