Two questions regarding Transmit Interrupt.

Q. I am working with configuration on a Capacity Plus single site system and am wondering about one thing:
Is it possible to set up priority talk groups on a capacity plus single site system in such a way that when a talk group TG1 starts sending, and the other radios that have active TX at the same time (I mean that they transmiting on some other TG at the same time when yhe priority TG1 starts to transmit...) stop sending the signal immediately and start listening to the one that is the priority talk group.

A. Capacity Plus does not support priority. What you can maybe do, is use either Remote Voice Dekey or Voice Interrupt.

Remote Voice Dekey is capable of dekeying interruptible voice transmissions from other radios. Alternatively, the radio user has the ability to remotely shut down a transmission that the user is not able to first monitor. Because of this, it is suggested that the Remote Voice Dekey feature be provided only to well-trained supervisors or radio technicians.
Voice Interrupt allows a radio, monitoring an interruptible voice call, to stop the ongoing voice transmission and initiate its own voice transmission to the same talkgroup or private call.
Voice Interrupt is typically used during a prolonged voice transmission when really urgent information becomes available, and it is necessary to disseminate the information to the group as quickly as possible.

For this to work in Capacity Plus, you will need to configure the following on all radios:

  • Tick (enable) Allow Interruption in all the Capacity Plus personalities. TX Interruptible Frequencies does not have to be ticked but you can if you want.

On radios which are allowed to interrupt transmissions, set the following:

  • Set TX Admit Criteria to Color Code Free and In-call Criteria to TX Interrupt.
  • Set one of the programmable buttons to TX Interrupt Remote Dekey.
Interrupting an ongoing trainsmoission takes some time as the radio has to wait for the other party to check the channel for an interrupt message.
You would trigger Remote Voice Dekey by pressing the side button set to this function.

Q. I have created an emergency alarm and tested several situations and here comes one of them:

If I have a radio that is "transmitting" (TX is on) and the second radio presses the alarm button, I want that the first radio who is transmitting stops sending the signal immediately and hears an alarm.
I could not get this feature functional although i have setup TX interupt etc. Radios i use are DP4801 Ex. Do you have any knowledge how it can be configured?

A. Make sure that Allow Interruption is enabled on all personalities and channels, On simplex channels or channels with talkaround capabilites, make sure TX Interruptible Frequencies is also enabled. In the emergency signaling set, there is a TX Interrupt setting that must be enabled, depending on how the emergency call will procsessed.

If the above checks out okay, then my suggestion would be to contact Motorola Solutions
