I don't seem to be able to IP remote program my repeaters from RM.
[Q] I don't seem to be able to IP remote program my repeaters from RM, all ip system settings are correct and IP has been selected on codeplug for repeater. [sic]
[A] May I suggest having a read of my MOTOTRBO Radio Management Guide for Technical Staff. The section titled Adding Repeaters has some detail on doing this.
In (TLDR) summary, for this to work, the following must be in place:
- The repeater needs to be added to RM by reading it using a cable. You can import the codeplug or create a duplicate, but in this case you'd still need to read to get the MVO data.
- IP Remote Programming needs to be ticked in the repeater configuration.
- If this is a single repeater, it needs to be set up as a Master. If the repeater is part of a IPSC or Cap+ system, RM will first connect to the Master to read/write a peer.
- RM needs to have a IP System Settings for the system (or repeater, if it's a single repeater). The IP System Settings contain the IP Address and UDP port of the Master as well as the Link Establishment Authentication Key (if used.). This must also be assigned to each of the repeaters in radio view.
- The Device Programmer needs to have IP Program ticked.
- There needs to be IP connectivity between the Device Programmer host machine and repeater.
- By default, the Device programmer will use TCP ports 50000 to 50100 for IP remote programming jobs. It will also use UDP port 50000 to communicate with the Master. These ports need to be unblocked on the network and forwarded to the repeater(s) if there is any firewall and/or router between them.
If all of these check out okay then the next step would involve using WireShark and contacting support. I've updated the troubleshooting section of the guide with some information about solving IP remote programming problems.
